As a replacement has yet to be named since Raf Simons’ departure, the Dior studio team put forth an on-brand 55 piece collection...

They Are Wearing: Art Basel, Hong Kong Edition

The art crowd has descended on Hong Kong this week for the latest installment of Art Basel and a host of satellite events around the city. WWD shot stylish attendees at a few key festivities so far, including Monday night’s opening of the “Structures of Recollection” exhibition at Pearl Lam Galleries and Tuesday night’s Net-a-porter and Mr Porter party hosted at The Pawn.

Guest at both events — as well as those wandering the main exhibition at the city’s trade center — sported a host of styles. Many opted for all-black or black-and-white combos, but a few flashed some traditional Chinese red (or hot pink). Funky, colorful sneakers, especially in orange, as well as chunky statement necklaces were out in full force...


Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring 2016

The anticipation was palpable at this season’s couture show for Dior, due in large part to Raf Simons’ abrupt resignation as creative director. With uncertainty looming in the air, there were obvious questions surrounding who would be at the helm of the house’s atelier and what direction the aesthetic would lean toward now.

Those that bore witness to Simons’ inaugural collection for Dior during 2012’s spring couture season (or tuned in to the documentary Dior & I, which chronicled the events leading up to the afore-mentioned) can agree that all the painstaking attention he paid to every stitch and every nuance translated from his imagination and inspiration to the runway exceeded his expectations and those of onlookers...


Atelier Versace Spring 2016 Couture

Versace has solidified its place in history for praising and exalting the female form: its every arch, curvation, and bend. Donatella Versace has been at the helm of the brand for almost two decades now and has definitely made the iconic Italian fashion house synonymous with power, sensuality, and strength: yes, the kinds of pieces you would wear for a night out but for the love of your own body and not that of the male gaze. D-ring accented straps, bomber jackets, functional knits, and contrast stripes kicked off the sporty chic vibe that pervaded over its latest Couture assortment.
